Founder
MEET THE FOUNDER
Pam is an English qualified lawyer that started her career in the front office of NatWest, having read Economics and Philosophy at University College London and qualifying in 1999, being trained at Allen & Overy and in-house. For over two decades, she has worked predominantly on the sell-side of the market in financial institutions i.e. in Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Lehman Brothers International (Europe) (post bankruptcy), Deutsche Bank, UniCredit S.p.A, Rabobank and Sanwa Bank (now MUFG) where, as a transactional lawyer, she helped structure complex transactions and worked on related restructuring and insolvency, litigation, regulatory investigations and regulatory implementation.
Pam has also had exposure to private markets and the buy-side of the market through negotiations on transactions as well as in her role at the Maples Group as an independent board director of special purpose vehicles and funds in the Cayman Islands. She qualified as an accredited director with the Cayman Islands Directors Association (CIDA) and the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada in 2019.
Having navigated her career strategically to gain experience in a range of financial institutions with varying cultures (e.g. American, Japanese, Italian, German, British and Dutch) and offshore (Cayman Islands), she has operated as Head of Structured Products Legal at Citigroup and Managing Director and Global Head of Markets Legal at UniCredit S.p.A. with responsibility for a global team of +90 lawyers.
Her product specialisms fall broadly into Capital Markets, Derivatives, Structured Products, Structured Finance and Alternative Investments and include Sharia Products and Commodities with M&A and Restructuring being some of her areas of specialism.
By having worked in the front office; in private practice; within in-house legal teams in a variety of banks; offshore as an independent accredited board director; and even in a bankrupt entity like Lehman Brothers International (Europe), Pam has gained a wide range of perspectives. She has also fostered a wide network of contacts across the industry and in law firms, which she leverages for the benefit of her clients.

NOTABLE MATTERS

OUR STORY
In 2021, Pam set up PSG Consult Counsel Ltd for the following reasons:
-
To provide clients with an alternative option, free from the limitations of conventional methods for legal cover. See Why Us.
-
To address a gap in the market by providing specialist lawyers to meet the needs of savvy investors that want to be protected when making complex investments. Investors are left with law firms with less expertise as the leading law firms represent the banks who feed them a flow of work that incentivises the law firms to decline representing investors as they invest periodically and thereby offer less work. By working with the law firms investors use, we bolster the specialist knowledge.
-
To bring insights to the investor side of the market from the sell-side and offshore, given investors we work with an advantage in negotiations.
-
To bring consulting solutions for where there is no in-house lawyer or no senior in-house lawyer, by offering GC Consulting Service by providing a fractional GC as a cost-effective way to access strategic advisors. Also, by offering Advisory Consulting Services, access to specialist product knowledge is made available to enhance what specialist law firms and advisory firms can offer to their clients.
-
On a personal level, Pam wanted to build a business that draws all the positives from the places she has had the privilege to work in and to surround herself with like-minded colleagues and clients and to 'use her powers for good' by leveraging her experience and network to work with clients that have ESG, sustainability and impact investing as their focus and who value diversity and inclusion.
