ENGAGEMENT
To provide the greatest flexibility to our clients, you can:

Engage Consult Counsel, which is a private limited company, directly and Consult Counsel will make our consultants available to you for given assignments.

You may employ our consultants directly on a fixed term contract for some assignments.

As part of the on-boarding process:

We provide a client care letter setting out details of our regulatory status and other legal notices.

We conduct anti-money laundering (AML) and know your client (KYC) checks on potential clients.

We use a master agreement that details the terms of engagement, with a schedule attached that details the terms of an assignment. The schedule is to be read in conjunction with the master agreement and both are to be signed. However, for ease, the master agreement need only be signed once with a client, as any subsequent assignments will only require a new schedule to be signed.

The on-boarding process is automated so that AML/KYC is conducted via a link and documents are sent and agreed/signed digitally to make the client experience easy and efficient.

FEES
Our fees for providing in-house lawyers differs from fees charged for secondees from a traditional law firm or freelance day-rate consultants. We are happy to quote fixed fees for a given assignment, so clients know where they stand on their costs.
We are not constrained by managing partners setting hourly rates that must be charged to clients; we do not have target billable hours that must be met; as we are a boutique operation, we do not have large teams of lawyers or large offices as we can work from a client’s offices or work remotely in a secure manner, just as an in-house legal team would operate. As we do not have the overhead costs of a law firm, we do not need to charge our clients higher fees.
