WHO WE ARE
Consult Counsel is a boutique legal consultancy based in London and founded in 2021 by Pamela Sen-Gupta, an English qualified lawyer with several decades of experience of working as an in-house lawyer in investment banks in London (e.g. Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Lehman (post insolvency), UniCredit, Deutsche Bank etc.), having operated at a Managing Director level.
Consult Counsel is not a law firm and is not a recruitment firm placing interim consultants.

Instead the focus is on providing clients with vetted senior lawyers to act as in-house lawyers for projects, long-term or as a flexible resource. The senior lawyers are career consultants with extensive in-house legal experience that are available as a resource to be drawn on as and when needed, to provide clients with a consistent trusted advisor for all in-house legal needs including legal risk management and Product expertise.

We also provide strategic advice e.g. we help start-up clients that have no legal expertise in-house as yet, to set up in-house legal teams and law firm panels with related legal risk management and governance policies and procedures; we help scale-ups, SME and family offices grow and improve their in-house legal function; help clients expand into jurisdictions or product offerings that are new to them by leveraging our prior experience; and we leverage our network with financial institutions, external law firms and other advisory services to assist clients that need funding, structuring solutions and external legal advice.
Our consultants are not portfolio consultants that spend part of the year on assignments and part of the year pursuing lifestyle or other interests, they are available all year round as career consultants and as we cater to select clients, mostly through our existing network or via referrals, we can ensure we do not work for your competitors.
WHAT WE DO
Consult Counsel is the marketing name for PSG Consult Counsel Ltd, a U.K. incorporated limited company.
Our objectives are:

To provide senior, commercial, transactional lawyers in a flexible, cost effective manner for clients that have no in-house legal function or need senior legal assistance for that function, as an alternative to clients using secondees from external law firms or interim consultants with portfolio careers.

To provide clients with a senior in-house lawyer to carry out general counsel services such as managing legal risk and external counsel, and/or assisting on complex matters or strategic projects, where clients do not wish to have the overhead cost of a permanent sole general counsel hire.

To provide Product expertise to litigation and financial regulatory specialist law firms and advisory consultants so that through collaboration with us, they can formulate a litigation strategy, advise on implementation of regulatory reform or provide strategic advice respectively, with a better outcome for their clients.

To provide advisory services to clients that need assistance with strategic projects, including, but not limited to, new products, new offices, building out an in-house legal team, navigating market events, corporate restructuring, and regulatory implementation as well as governance procedures and policies and leveraging our addres book to source structuring and funding solutions.

Whilst consultants at Consult Counsel are authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (“SRA”), Consult Counsel is not SRA regulated as we do not carry out reserved legal activities in our in-house legal services.
COVID 19
Like many businesses, Consult Counsel has adapted to ensure the safety of all parties it has connections with. We have video conferencing facilities and can provide our consulting services remotely and globally.
